Building Excel models that survive handoffs
How I structure financial workbooks so teammates can audit assumptions, refresh inputs, and trust the outputs.

A financial model is only useful if someone else can reopen it next month and understand what changed.
I keep inputs isolated, label every assumption, and use consistent naming for tabs and key ranges. PivotTables and lookups stay tied to clean source tables so refresh cycles stay predictable.
Standardized templates also cut recurring reporting time — in recent work, that structure reduced repeated reporting effort by about a quarter.
